This book encompasses information regarding the complete science of polymers. Over the past ten to fifteen years, advancements in polymer science have attracted attention and witnessed significant changes. From a rather specialized subject limited to engineers engaged and interested in some specific fields, polymer science has transformed into a general discipline which provides the base for several sub-specialties. This book comprehensively treats various aspects of the subject of polymer science. Several books have presented distinct types of polymers with great accuracy and excellence and at comparatively high levels of abstraction, but none of them is complementary. A position halfway between the older, conventional approach in engineering and the current, and to some extent, formal expositions seems to be evolving. This book aims to present a descriptive account on this new emerging mediated approach in the field of polymer science for the benefit of a wide variety of readers including theorists, practitioners, researchers and students.
